Mayor Bloomberg & NYPD seem to be losing their patience with the #OccupyWallSt protests. The National Lawyer’s Guild said the arrests are nearing 100 and video of excessive NYPD force seems to indicate the city is ready to shut down the #OccupyWallSt protests for good.
According to legal aid volunteers on site in Zuccotti Park which has become the base of operations for the Occupy Wall St. protesters there have been about 10 arrests. Four were arrested for “wearing masks in violation of a law that bars two or more participants from doing so.” according to an NYPD statement citing a law from 1845.
The New York Police Department has locked down Wall Street. In anticipation of the “occupy wall Street” protests in lower Manhattan. The protest was largely organized using social networking sites like facebook and twitter. While for the most part the protesters seem to be leftists, communists and socialists calling for an end to capitalism, there is also a contingent of tea partiers, libertarians and anarcho-capitalists calling for an end to “crony” capitalism and corporate fascism.

The ad blasts the pair’s liberal health care mandates and contrasted the conservative credentials of Rep. Ron Paul, including his opposition to all government bailouts and foreign interventionism.

Truth Squad had already reported that the NYPD under Federal directives has been monitoring facebook on July 22nd, when Truth Squad editor Danny Panzella was confronted by no less than 40 NYPD officers after posting on facebook that he would be staging a “flash mob” protest of the NY Federal Reserve Bank.
Executives from the nation’s largest banks are meeting Friday at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York Several activist groups are planning to protest the meeting which begins at noon.
